Evermore

Design & Refine

At each stage of the design process, screens would be tested for efficiency and intuitiveness. Features deemed unhelpful were edited. Challenges users faced were addressed by adding new features or information.  The visual style was created to reflect the personality of the brand and to be attractive to users.

Define

Based on research, I considered user wants and needs to determine necessary functions. I use the user stories and flows to inform the wireframe design.

Discovery

I started off researching the potential audience (25-34) from the brief and decided to narrow it down. Of this age group, women make more purchases. Of the competitor apps I evaluated, the interfaces were more modern, edgy and gender neutral.

Challenge

  • Create app that allows purchase of clothing and human interaction

  • Honor the incentive to purchase pre used clothing

Solution

  • Create simple interface that mimics e-commerce apps while also allowing following of other users and comments/reviews

  • Create visual branding to feel organic and natural

Overview

Evermore is a pre-loved (previously owned) clothing selling and buying app. Users can create profiles and sell or purchase various articles of clothing. This app was designed for my UIUX course. I wanted to create an app with e-commerce qualities.

Reflection

Throughout this project I have come to appreciate the importance of work early on in the process. Research is essential. The earlier in the design process that you solve a problem or add a feature, the simpler the design is to adapt. Going into the design process, I intended to give the app a more humanistic presence in contrast to other apps. In additional renditions, I would better honor that initial goal.

To honor the social aspect of this app, I would add a feature on the homepage to allow users to switch between posts from who the users were following and explore categories.

I might also add a profile picture on sellers and reviewers, to add a human touch to the app. I would also include more tags on the object summary pages, including more about the product.
